5 Tips to Maintain Healthy Lashes
Welcome! Thank you for joining me on my NEW website. I will be updating this blog with tips and information about the services I offer. This week, I want to focus on my most popular service, lashes. Lash extensions are an investment. Not everyone will love them and not everyone is a lash candidate. Yes, they look amazing and cut down your getting ready time. Lash extensions also require up keep and home care. Here are 5 tips to maintain your natural lash health while wearing extensions.
1. Keep them clean and oil free.
Stay away from products that contain oil like eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara.
Cleanse your lashes with an oil/ tear free cleanser such as baby shampoo 2-3 weekly.
Brush your lashes daily to prevent tangling.
2. Book your refill in advance to avoid paying for another full set.
Depending on your skin type, hair type, and hair growth, you will need a refill every 2-3 weeks.
You should have no less than 50% at time of refill appointment.
3. Sleep Pretty
Try to sleep on your side or back to prevent unnecessary shedding during sleep.
Be mindful that you may have more shedding on your dominant sleeping side.
Use a satin or silk pillow case to help prevent sleep shedding.
4. No Touching
No rubbing or touching eye area so that you do not spread bacteria and cause infection.
Do not pull at lashes. Your natural lashes will be pulled out with the extension.
5. Come in for a proper removal
DO NOT attempt to remove lashes at home.
Improper removal can cause damage to natural lashes.
There are many resources to learn what to expect, pricing in your area, home care, and pros/cons. I always go through this information at your first appointment and will answer any questions you may have. See you soon!
